Air Hearn 4 Life

Sorry I haven't updated in a while but I figured it'd be best to combime both games from last week into one post.

Tuesday night sucked, but that happens coming back from break and not being in the best shape. I thought, considering the attitude of the team, that we played extremely well for everyone not really wanting to play. If we see that team again in the playoffs no doubt we'd win. When we started pressing and running and gunning it gave us a lot of confidence back. I'd also like to take the time to mention the stellar play of all the guys who nomrally don't play as much, you guys kicked some serious ass and definitely out-hustled all the starters. Good job!

Thursday night went down in history as the greatest victory in Air Hearn athletics. Our other two wins felt good, but we dominated every aspect of that game from start to finish. I loved the attitude we played with; demanded the ball from a teamate, drove the lane, contested every shot, got offensive rebounds, slapped hands after a bucket, yelled from the sidelines and run up and down the court on every offensive and defensive possession.

Our greatest attribute on Thursday came from our defensive rotation. That's what happens we you talk to each other out there and play the man that comes into your zone and not necessarily the man himself. Stop the ball on the three point line, prevent penetration and force the other team to drop a contested shot in your eye. Knowing from experience, it's much harder to nail a three with a hand in your face, unless your Rick of course.

That reminds me, it was really nice to get Rick back for that game. He's so smart out there, it seems like he never makes a bad play out there. Everyone made the extra pass but at the same time didn't pass up an open J or easy drive to the bucket. Like I told Captain after the game, if a few of us (definitely me passing up an easy layup for a tough floater) nail the shots that we normally make, we would have probably scored 80 points.

Kings of the night:

I'm picking the entire team. Joe played some stellar defense, Zach got some amazing steals, Bobby drained a few tough layups, Keef brought out the best in everyone like he normally does, Sing nailed a few nice jumpers, Paul hustled and got some nice lay ups for himself and others, Jason grabbed some awesome offensive boards, Scott coached a perfect game, Boy made both of his free throws, Rick hustled his balls off and really QBed the offense for a while, Blair made some dagger threes from West Virginia, George played great defense and Juan made the play of the night. Seriously dude, if you're reading this, you had everyone stunned. That was like some crazy AND 1 shit man, getting tripped, keeping your dribble, switching hands, going between your legs and around two defenders and then bringing it down and making an amazing pass to someone open underneath the bucket. Damn dude, that fucking ruled!

I love you guys and I wish I could be there with you on Sunday night. I will be in Air Hearn spirit.
